John Wilson Reserve is 9.5 hectares of land that runs along the northern bank of Pullen Pullen Creek. The park has remnant riparian (creek side) vegetation and established revegetated areas, with over 5000 trees planted in recent years. With natural regeneration (self seeding plants), the development of a tree canopy providing leaf litter and shade, and plans for further plantings of understorey species, the park will become a mature riparian forest with significant habitat connectivity values for the catchment. The entrance to John Wilson Reserve is the easement at the Glenhurst St cul-de-sac, Pinjarra Hills (UBD196 L7).
Bushcare Activities
The revegetation and maintenance of Glenhurst Park Reserve, has been largely achieved by the John Wilson Reserve Bushcare Group & community members participating in tree planting and bush regeneration activities. We warmly welcome community members to come along to a bushcare morning and help plant a few trees or pull out a few weeds.
To find out more about Glenhurst St Reserve bushcare activities, contact Group Leader Martin de Jong on Ph: 3202 9653 or contactus@pullenpullencatchment.org.au.
